Christmas in July Annual Event Success Fun-loving regulars and holiday makers at a North Wales pub have raised a brilliant sum for the area’s only children’s hospice. The Seagull bar in Towyn held their annual Christmas in July event on Saturday 26th for Tŷ Gobaith in Conwy. £1,840 was raised in a single day thanks to the popular raffle, bingo, auction and kind donations in collection tins. The quirky day sees staff kit out the bar with full seasonal decoration including tree, lay on festive entertainment for children, a visit from Santa Claus himself and there’s even karaoke and a singer to round off the evening. Staff at The Seagull, Towyn have raised £5,000 for Tŷ Gobaith so far with their Christmas in July events. Owner, Shel Knapper said: “A huge thank you to the team who worked their socks off all day and to everybody who came down to support this wonderful charity by taking part in the fun and making donations. “It’s our fourth year doing it and we’ve raised just shy of £5,000 in total so far.” Tŷ Gobaith fundraiser, Sian Golding said: “This is such a brilliant event, we just love original ideas like this. “They put such a great effort into it and the community really comes together. “The money they have raised will help so many local children and families living with a life-threatening condition to live their best lives.” Manage Cookie Preferences
