Cycling Banana Raises £300 and Counting Dan was the man for our hospices recently. On October 29th, Dan Haycocks from Banana Ben’s indoor play centre in Flint rode 85-miles on a static bike dressed as a banana. It was the equivalent of riding to Wales’ highest mountain, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), and in just six hours, the intrepid 42-year-old raised £300 for the charity. Fundraising Dan said: “It was very warm in the Banana costume, but the support from all of our lovely customers and the endless high fives from the children passing through were what kept me going, knowing I was raising money for a worthy cause. “It was a great atmosphere, lots of parents would come and keep me company over the fence and cheer me on. We had Halloween events on in the centre and the music was fuelling me.” Raffle Both the Banana Ben’s sites in Flint and Wrexham are holding raffles over November 23rd & 24th with great prizes like free admission passes, free meal deals and a £50 off party booking voucher. If you would like to support, please either pop into the centre to buy a ticket, or call 01978 449 897 (Wrexham) or 01352 720 573 (Flint). Manage Cookie Preferences
