Staff from a Cheshire estate agent have dived head first into one of our fundraising challenges.

The ladies from Wheatcroft & Lloyd in Sandbach are making a splash by swimming 50 miles in 50 days to raise money for our hospices.

As part of the £50 Challenge, they dreamed up the idea and had intended to use their money for admission charges or membership fees. But thanks to the kindness of Alsager and Sandbach leisure centres were granted access for free.

Speaking for the ladies, Debbie Lloyd, said: “We first heard about Hope House when their fundraiser Claire dropped in to talk to us.

“We thought it was such a great cause that we wanted to get involved.

“We’re a bit obsessed with swimming now and will keep it up in the future.”

Original idea

Claire said: “Thank you so much, ladies, it really is an incredible challenge.

“We’ve not had swimmers before so it’s a really original and healthy idea.”
