Ex-Barclays staff bank a healthy cheque We would like to say a huge thank you to the Barclays North & Mid Wales Welfare & Luncheon Club for a recent donation of over £3,000. In December 2025, the kind group presented us with a cheque for £3,038.71 which was raised through a combination of sponsorship for completing a triathlon, some generous match-funding and Gift Aid. Every year, a small number of retired members of Barclays and their friends/ family get together to support local charities and last year we were fortunate enough to be the chosen benefactor. A team of nine took on a triathlon around Bala Lake in May 2025, consisting of walking, cycling and kayaking over three days. Barclays North & Mid Wales Welfare and Luncheon club Chairman, Mr Peter Jones said: “We were more than happy to support the triathlon event via donations at luncheons and direct them to the fundraising page. "The work the staff at Hope House Ty Gobaith undertake is fantastic and we were delighted to present the charity with the cheque to ensure they can continue with their excellent work for some very special children.” Fundraiser, Claire Penney, shared: “What an incredible donation from former colleagues of Barclays. “Their efforts in the triathlon and generosity in fundraising at their dinners, will be greatly appreciated by so many local children and families living with a life-threatening condition. “Our mission is to help make quality moments, smiles and memories - this kind donation will certainly help us achieve that in 2026. “Thank you to everybody at the Barclays North & Mid Wales Welfare & Luncheon Club.” Manage Cookie Preferences
