We wish to thank the staff and customers of The Blue Anchor for their fantastic fundraising.

Paying tribute to their late friend Kavan Ramsey, the group hosted Ramsey’s Ramble and walked from the pub in Buckley up to Gwernaffield and back – around 30 miles.

Held on Good Friday, April 3rd, the event was supported by many local businesses who donated raffle prizes for the weekend of fun and food that followed.

Over the Bank Holiday the pub raised a total of £4,200 which was split between our hospices and the Star Box appeal at Wrexham’s Maelor hospital.

Supporting the pub was our Flintshire area fundraiser, Nicola Eyes, who said: “We’re so grateful to Tracey and the team, plus the local community for their efforts in raising this money.

“We support many families in the area who are raising a child with a life-threatening condition and helping them to make quality moments to remember together.

“This donation will fund respite stays, nursing care, physiotherapy and family support services that allow parents the valuable time to recharge their batteries.

“Thank you.”
