Our hospices have just launched their £50 Challenge for 2025 which tests businesses, schools and social groups to accept a £50 investment and multiply as many times as possible in 50 days.

Our mission is to give every local child with a life-threatening condition and their family access to professional care and improve their quality of life from the point of diagnosis.

The fundraising drive runs from the 3^rd March to 21^st April and free sign-ups are now open on our website via https://www.hopehouse.org.uk/50challenge. All entrants will be fully supported by our fundraising team who can provide branded materials and inspiration.

Event ideas can include quiz or cocktail evenings, entering a sponsored sporting event, a raffle for customers or even using the money to develop a new product for sale.

Last year, WF Education Group showed some real initiative and hosted a car wash for all staff at their Shrewsbury HQ.

Larissa Spencer, Customer Support Manager said of their experience: “For WF it was a brilliant way to bring the team together to collaborate ideas and we decided that a company car wash would be a fab way to have lots of fun in the sunshine, whilst raising money for an exceptional cause! And of course, we all had a nice shiny car at the end of it too.”

Providing memorable outdoor experiences for siblings of seriously ill children is just one of the many other services provided by the hospices

What you'll help with

Examples of what your event and multiplied £50 could fund are:

£100 could fund a support session for bereaved parents where they can access emotional support from Hope House’s team of expert bereavement counsellors

£500 could fund an action packed sibling support day for brothers and sisters of children in hospice care. Mary Leighton, from the Sibling Support Team said: “It’s so wonderful to be able to bring the children on adventures. Quite often they may be a little shy initially, but then throughout the day their confidence and smiles grow, which is beautiful to see.”

£1,500 could fund 24hrs of respite care or crisis care for a seriously ill child. Deputy Head of Care at Tŷ Gobaith, Kate Jones, said: “It is the biggest compliment we can be given that parents trust us to care for their precious children – it’s a real bond of trust. Supporting people through their experience and ensuring they feel safe is something families really feel the benefit of when they come here.”

Fundraiser Bekki Fardoe is heading up the campaign and said: “Our mission is to ensure we reach every local child with a life-threatening condition and enable them to live their best life.

“Last year the £50 Challenge raised £27,000 and with the help of caring and ingenious regional business, we would love to top that and ensure physical and emotional support for families who are suffering.

“It’s such a great way to fulfil corporate social responsibility and show your community that you are passionate about making a difference.
