Airbus UK are “fired up” by their fresh commitment to our hospices.

The 370 strong team from the Manufacturing Engineering Operations department have pledged to aim to raise over £50,000 for local children and families this year.

They will start by taking part in our £50 Challenge in March and April with a giant Easter Egg raffle, but have much bigger plans going forward including an epic National Three Peaks challenge.

Emma Chapman and Guy Jones are leading the charge starting with our £50 Challenge

Looking ahead

Department Head, Guy Jones said: “The team are really fired up and I’d be disappointed if we didn’t break the £50k mark.

“We’ve got a real multitude of stuff going on this year and already have 36 people signed-up to take part in the National Three Peaks challenge.”

Emma Chapman is leading much of the fundraising with colleagues Jennie Roberts and Rebecca Stansfield.

Emma commented: “It’s a new initiative and all of 2025’s activities will benefit Hope House Tŷ Gobaith.

“We want to give back in time as well as funding and get everyone involved who can’t do physical challenges by looking at volunteering opportunities also.

“We’ll be hosting a Bake Off in May and some daring staff are signing up for the sky dive too.”

Pushing themselves

Area Fundraiser Nicky Eyes joined Guy and Emma on site in Broughton recently to discuss the plans and present them with their £50 investment.

Nicky said: “The Manufacturing Engineering staff at Airbus are absolutely brilliant and are really pushing themselves to enable local children and families with a life-threatening condition to live their best lives with our support.

“Guy and his team have taken on some big challenges in the past but this year are going all out and we are so grateful for their kindness.

“After their amazing work for our Quality Moments Matter campaign in 2024, we’re delighted to have been chosen as their preferred charity and look forward to supporting them every step of the way.”
