April joins the great Anglesey Abseil Brave mum April has signed up to join us for the Anglesey Abseil challenge in memory of her son Craig. April Collin, of Amlwch, will take on the heights of the Marquess Column along with over 60 others to raise money. In 2012, her eldest son, Craig tragically passed away after 10 days on life support, following a motorcycle accident, and the family were supported by Tŷ Gobaith. Craig The Challenge “I’ve never done anything like this before, and I’m excited for it. “I just hope the weather is good for us,” April shared. She will be joined on the day by her son Nico, who has more of a head for heights. “Nico is a tree surgeon, so it should be fine for him as he’s always climbing and used to heights,” she said. Siblings and friends April and Nico Nico and his sisters, Cheyenne and Kiara, received support from Tŷ Gobaith when Nico was five. Hannah, a colleague of April’s at The Island Cove Café in Benllech, which April owns, has also committed to the challenge. Great day The Marquess of Anglesey column is 89ft high and has 115 steps to climb to the top. Our Anglesey Abseil event takes place on Saturday, May 9th and costs just £30 to take part with a commitment to raise at least £150. All participants will get a bespoke t-shirt and complimentary meal. Our fundraiser, Nikki Sullivan, said: “Come and join us for this breath-taking experience and help us to continue reaching every local child and family who are living with a life-threatening condition. “We’re so excited to bring this successful event back to the wonderful island of Anglesey and the picturesque column. “It’s going to be a day to remember and there’s just a few places left, so don’t delay in booking your spot.” Sponsor and sign up Sponsor April The day is expertly hosted by North Wales’ own Go Vertical!
