Businesses Urged Not To Duck Out! Businesses and social groups in the Wrexham and Flintshire areas are being urged to go quackers and get creative for charity. The annual Harry’s Duck Race at Pontblyddyn Cricket Club on Sunday September 7th offers the chance to buy an extra large plastic duck and dress it up in costume for a Best Dressed Duck competition to be judged by the Mayor. For just £20, businesses, social groups or even individuals can purchase their yellow ducks and get as imaginative as they like. The popular event has seen characters from Peaky Blinders, Diana Ross, Spiderman, Batman and even a firey Welsh Dragon entered. The day offers the traditional small ducks for £1 each which will be raced in the River Alyn through a series of heats and eventual final. Organised by local mum Julia Jones in tribute to her late son, Harry, the fun day has market stalls, raffles, bar, face painting for the kids, sideshow games and a tasty BBQ too.
