Camping chairs needed for festival season We’re calling for donations of camping chairs to our two Shrewsbury shops ahead of this year’s busy festival season. We’ll be running pop up stalls at Alderfest in July and at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend, raising vital funds to support local children with life-threatening conditions. Camping chairs are always among the fastest selling items at our festival stalls, and this year we’re hoping to collect as much stock as possible. Lindy Welch-Smart, our Head of Retail, said: “If you’re clearing out your sheds and garages this spring and find any spare foldout camping chairs, we’d love you to donate them for our festival pop ups. “We sell out of them quickly every year, and more donations mean we can raise more money for the children and families who rely on our care - while also giving unused items a new life when they may have been heading for the bin.” Our shops on Lancaster Retail Park and Oteley Road in Shrewsbury will be accepting donations and storing them ready for a busy summer. “As well as chairs, we’d also welcome any festival themed donations - from festival fashion to instruments, rucksacks or even umbrellas for the British weather. Every donation helps,” added Lindy. “Last year festival-goers raised nearly £13,000 at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival and it would be amazing if we could better that this year, but we need your very generous donations to sell across the two events.” Anyone wishing to donate can drop items at the Hope House Shrewsbury shops during opening hours which can be found by clicking below.
