Runners put their best feet forward on Sunday 6th October and raised tens thousands of pounds.

Sisters Kitty and Nina were all smiles ahead of their Cardiff Half effort

An unprecedented 86 amateur athletes ran in our colours at the Principality Cardiff Half Marathon raising a total of £31,600 from their sponsors.

Runners of all ages took part and we were there with our tent to welcome and support them along the way on what was the 21st edition of the event.

The run attracted a record 29,000 entrants with thousands more lining the streets to cheer them on.

Great achievement

On a damp day in the city, spirits were high and sisters Kitty Font and Nina Jones were in their Hope House tops as they competed and told us afterwards: "We absolutely loved it. Well done to all the other runners, amazing achievement."

Dan Crute from Wrexham was also on our team and ran in memory of his late son, Archie who was cared for by our hospices.

So grateful

Fundraiser Nicky Eyes said: “We are so grateful to all the runners who took on the challenge of Cardiff Half Marathon for Hope House Ty Gobaith children's hospices.

"The atmosphere on the day was amazing and I loved being there to support you all, thank you to those who popped by to say hello before or after the race.

“Every drop of sweat and every penny raised really will help us make quality moments and memories for families with life-threatened children.

“Thank you all so much.”
