Charlie’s Inspirational Coastal Walk Our super supporter Charlie Perry-Hargreaves raised £900 when he walked a marathon – despite battling his own health problems. On October 29th, supported by mum Victoria, nine-year-old Charlie walked from Prestatyn Sailing Club to Old Colwyn and back along the North Wales Coast Path in a single day. Charlie with his mum Victoria at the start in the dark Charlie and his twin sister who joined him for part of the hike Brave Charlie wanted to raise money for a children’s charity as he himself has chronic asthma and has check-ups every three months at hospital. On the walk totalling nine and a half hours, he was joined by his twin sister, Tabitha for part of the hike. Victoria said: “He started around 6am and covered 52,000 steps to finish just before dark. “We are so proud of him, and he has raised £900 with more still coming in.” Charlie in high spirits on his hike Charlie with his trophy Finish Line Charlie took it all in his stride and was greeted at the finish by grandparents, dad Gareth, Tabitha and younger sister Sofia with a special banner and trophy. Our fundraiser, Nicky Eyes shared: “Wow, what an inspirational effort by a brave young man. “Well done Charlie and Victoria, we’re so grateful for the wonderful amount raised. “Every penny will go directly to supporting local children and families living with a life-threatening condition.” Get Involved If you'd like to take on a challenge like Charlie, please visit our Get Involved page to find out more!
