Isabel's family organise hoedown Yee haw! An evening of country music and dancing is lined up to support our hospices. Vicky Morrell and her family, from Flint, have organised the hoedown to raise money as her daughter, Isabel, has been cared for at Hope House for many years. Isabel is now 16 years-old and has been attending the hospice for respite stays for most of her life. She had suffered with the rare HSV encephalitis virus at 13 months old and was left with a brain injury. This has left Isabel with complex disabilities, both developmental and physical. So Excited Vicky shared: “She loves Hope House. It’s her favourite thing. “She gets so excited when she’s going. “She goes straight into the teenage lounge, gets herself cosy and waves us goodbye.” The fundraising night of country music and line dancing comes with a country dress code, so get your neckerchief and boots ready. Venue It is being hosted at the Holiday Inn, Chester West on Saturday 18th April from 7pm until late. Tickets are £20 for adults and £10 for children to include hot food and cake. Vicky said: “The Holiday Inn have been very kind to us in providing the room and food at an amazing price. We’ve also had three kind companies, JD Vernon Haulage, JMR Commercials and Chris Woodworth Transport sponsor us to cover the overheads so every penny raised can go to Hope House. “There’ll be line dancing lessons and music from K-Kicks and a fabulous raffle with great prizes donated by local people and businesses. “See you on the dancefloor.” Amazing Staff It was Isabel’s paediatrician who first introduced the family to Hope House and at first Vicky was unsure if it would be for them. She said: “I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. For quite a while myself and my other two daughters stayed there in the family quarters too when Izzy was on respite. “We gradually weened ourselves off as Izzy grew in confidence and was happy there on her own with the amazing staff. “We can’t thank them enough and want to raise as much as possible for the hospice to say thank you – so please come and join us.” Tickets Tickets for the evening can be booked via Emily Morrell on 07546 060701.
