David wins his first prize since 1969 A retired chef from Llandudno was served up a slice of luck when he scooped our £1,000 lottery jackpot. David Rothwell, 78, had been playing our lottery for around two years when the good news arrived. He said: “The last thing I won was back in 1969 – a silver medal during my catering apprenticeship. “I’ve not won a thing since then, so it was a nice surprise.” Dave received a call from our lottery team in February and soon after a letter and cheque in the post. “We used to live in Rowen, not far from Tŷ Gobaith, so are aware of their important work. “Since moving to Llandudno we have been regular customers at the shop in town, and that’s where I found out about the lottery. “They can’t fund themselves, so we signed up for the lottery and make regular donations for sale,” he said. The father of two spent the money treating his family and beloved pet dog. To sign up to our lottery, click the link below or pop into any of our stores. Sign up Manage Cookie Preferences
