Generous locals and staff from Rossett’s Golden Lion are celebrating a fundraising milestone after hitting £12,500.

Landlord Allan Parrington said: “We have found a great partner in Hope House Tŷ Gobaith.

“They do a fantastic job in showing exactly where the money goes.

“They have taught us that children’s hospice care is about life, hope and creating memories.”

Allan had nothing but kind words for their patrons.

He shared: “It’s a very generous village, everybody comes together and our regulars have come up with some great fundraising ideas.

“We’ve been supporting the hospices since 2017 and have held golf days, raffles, quizzes, festive squares, race nights and more which have always been well supported.

“We’re thrilled to have reached this amount and have more planned in the future.

“Huge thanks to all the staff and customers for their enthusiasm and donations to this wonderful cause.”

Our Fundraising Manager Cat gave the Golden Lion team the good news.

Cat said: “The 75 families in the Wrexham area alone that we support describe us as their lifeline and would live in isolation and fear without the bespoke care we provide.

“This is only possible because of people like Allan and the Rossett community flying our flag.

“We cannot thank them all enough.

“We need to raise £10 million this year, every community action that takes place has a real impact on real lives locally.

“To everyone at the Golden Lion, you’re amazing and we look forward to supporting more of your efforts in the future.”
