Tŷ Gobaith Praised For High Standards Tŷ Gobaith has received high praise and an exceptional report for its standards of care. Tŷ Gobaith was visited as part of a routine inspection by Health Inspectorate Wales (HIW) over two days on July 8th & 9th 2025 and their findings were that of the highest standards. Read Full Report Scoring against benchmarks of Quality Management, Leadership, Delivery of Safe and Effective Care and Quality of Patient Experience, HIW concluded the following: Safe and effective care is being delivered, and staff are kind and caring. There is an open and supportive culture where staff feel well supported. Care documentation is completed to a very high standard and record keeping is second to none. Comprehensive Safeguarding practices are in place. Interaction with children is positive and children and families are treated with dignity and respect. Environment is well maintained clean and tidy and infection control well managed. Children and staff at Tŷ Gobaith were all deemed happy and well supported by HIW Director of Care for the hospice, Karen Wright, shared: “Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices give every local child with a life-threatening condition, and their family, access to professional care and improves their quality of life from the point of diagnosis. “The excellent HIW inspection report truly reflects our purpose, commitment and the professionalism of all the teams who support the children, young people and families at Tŷ Gobaith. “Witnessing this level of care and the pride the staff show on a daily basis is truly heartwarming. “I really couldn’t be any prouder.” Feedback From Families The inspectors also sought confidential feedback from children and parents.
