Jessica’s quadruple fitness challenge A nurse from Anglesey is taking on four fundraising fitness challenges. Jessica Roberts is a fully qualified children’s nurse and while completing her training 10 years ago, undertook a placement at Tŷ Gobaith – a place that really inspired her. Jess shared: “There are many brilliant charities out there, but I decided to raise money for Tŷ Gobaith as I have experienced the amazing care they provide first hand. “It is such a wonderful place for children and their families. It has a very homely feel, and each child has individualised quality care. “They can feel completely safe and cared for in the best possible way. “I knew this was the charity for me - 100 percent.”. Four challenges Having already completed our Valentine Challenge in February by walking 14 miles in 14 days, Jess will soon be completing our sponsored 10-mile Llangollen Canal Walk, the revered She Ultra race in Abersoch, and finally the Virtual London Marathon at the end of April. She said: “I’m 34 now and a wife with two wonderful young children. “My aim for this year is to get fitter and complete these challenges to help others. “They are quite close together which is nerve racking. However, I have been making sure to get out everyday rain or shine to get some miles in. “I have incredible support. My husband has been my rock. “Family and friends have been fantastic in coming for long walks with me in all weathers and will be joining me for parts of the Virtual London Marathon along the coast of the beautiful island we live on.” Sponsor Jess Get involved Our Virtual London Marathon takes place at the same time as the main event on April 26th, but competitors get 24hrs to complete the distance and raise vital funds. There are still some places up for grabs if you fancy pushing yourself to support local children and families. “I’d like to think I’m quite a positive person. I have the mentality to think this is all for an amazing cause and to aid others which will always keep me going! “I’m super excited for all these incredible events,” said Jess. Our fundraiser Bekki Fardoe is supporting Jess and said: “Jess is an inspirational woman. “She been a dedicated children’s nurse for over a decade and is pushing herself for the good of others in her community. “We’re proud of all our virtual marathon entrants. Every mile ran and pound raised will go straight to help local children and families living with a life-threatening condition to live their best life. “Thanks Jess.” Our Virtual London Marathon places are available for a reduced entry price of just £15 with a commitment to raise £250. Every entrant will receive a free technical t-shirt to wear, a tracking app and an official London Marathon finishers medal. Sign up Manage Cookie Preferences
