Manifesto commitment welcomed

We welcome today's Plaid Cymru manifesto acknowledgment that palliative and end-of-life care are a critical part of the Welsh health and care system, and their commitment to develop a new, sustainable funding model.

We have long called for a sustainable funding solution in Wales. Families deserve certainty about the services they rely on and our ambition is to reach a position where Welsh Government funding meets 30% of agreed care costs by 2030.

Children’s hospices are a genuine Welsh success story: delivering integrated care, close to home, for families facing the hardest imaginable circumstances. With the right support, we can keep doing what Wales does best, being a genuinely compassionate country.
