Myles Will Star At Conwy Dark Run The stunning grounds of The National Trust’s Penrhyn Castle and the backdrop of Conwy’s iconic skyline are gearing up to host the most fun charity events of the year in North Wales. On the evenings of Saturday October 18th and 25th respectively, the grounds of the Gwynedd Castle and Conwy’s quayside will be start-venues for the colourful and family-friendly Dark Runs in aid of local children with life-threatening conditions. Special Guests Conwy’s event will have some very special guests too - Myles and mum Georgia. Myles is seven years old and attends Hope House for respite and therapy sessions. He lives with an extremely rare neurological condition called 4H Leukodystrophy which affects only 120 children worldwide. Georgia will be pushing Myles around the 4km course but before that, the tenacious pair will be speaking and blowing the starting hooter for the race. Proudly sponsored by Capalona Business Finance of St Asaph, and with support from Dŵr Cymru and Cartrefi Conwy the Dark Runs are evening fun runs, walks or even dance-alongs of between 1.5km and 4km where participants are encouraged to wear bright, neon or even spooky Halloween costumes. With lit courses and energetic group warm-up, the events promise fun for all the family whilst raising funds to support local children living with a life-threatening condition. Set to the soundtrack of upbeat music and passing through many historic sights, the flat courses offer a night to remember with a great cause at its heart. A Great Memory For Myles Georgia said: “I’m really looking forward to bringing Myles and it will be another great memory for him. “We’ve got him a special spooky pumpkin costume which he loves wearing. “We’re even raising some sponsorship money for the hospices too. “Hope House is a place and people we can really rely on. We’re so grateful for them and happy to be helping with this great event.” Event organisers Sian Golding and Nikki Jones said: “We are so grateful to Myles and Georgia, The National Trust and Conwy County Borough Council for hosting us. “Both sites really are terrific and make for beautiful backdrops for what is one of our favourite events of the year – they’re bright, they’re spooky but overall, a great evening out that will support so many local children and families living with a life-threatening condition. “They are always a sell-out so don’t miss your chance and register early.” Take Part In Our Dark Runs Tickets are just £15 for adults and £5 for children (Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult) There will be refreshments available along with a free glow stick for every runner.
