Our shops are gearing up to help with our £50 Challenge.

They've created ingenious ideas such as Easter raffles, clothing kilo bag sales and even a Bongo Bingo night lined up for their customers.

The £50 Challenge tests businesses, schools and social groups to accept a £50 investment and multiply as many times as possible in 50 days.

Raffle

Along with colleagues and volunteers, Catherine Atherton, Manager of our Bangor branch has devised a special Easter themed raffle and used their £50 investment to buy egg shells in which to hide prizes for customers to take a lucky dip at.

She said: “As it is approaching the Easter period, we thought we’d do something seasonal and fun for shoppers to get involved with.

“We’ve popped the raffle by the till to encourage customers to have a go and priced it at 50p per egg or £1 for three.

Bingo

Over in Mold, staff have arranged an already popular Bongo Bingo night at the local rugby club. It’s a craze that’s sweeping the nation and sees players enjoy traditional bingo set to pumping music and disco lights.

Manager Tracey Lavery said: “One of the staff’s husband is a part-time DJ and host and has offered his services for free, as well as that we secured the booking of the rugby club for free.

“The tickets are going really well already and we’ve had lots of customers coming in to buy them.

“It’s looking like a great evening and hopefully should raise a lot for the children and families we care for.”

Great value

In Chester, they have organised a Kilo Sale, which involves customers buying a special voucher which they can exchange for an entire kilo of our pre-loved clothing.

Manager Becky Hemmings explained: “Our deputy Alex came up with the idea and we have arranged to have a stall in a local bar/ restaurant one evening.

“As well as promoting the charity, we will be selling vouchers for £5 which customers can then pop-in to the shop and exchange for a whole kilo of clothes, which is great value.

“It’s a fab idea and we hope it will go down well.”
