Seb’s dad takes on Wirral Walk Seb’s dad Joe dad will be raising money by arranging a Wirral Walk. Joe Leask will be stepping out with his walk and talk group on June 7th to raise as much money as possible for Hope House, where his 13-year-old son Sebastian visits for respite care. “Seb loves Hope House and it’s just got everything he needs to have an amazing stay,” said Joe. “The facilities are amazing and all the staff are so friendly, it gives Seb just what he needs. But it also gives Seb’s mum a much-needed rest too which is vital when you are caring for a child all the time.” Joe did the walk for the first time last year raising a brilliant £2,412. “I just wanted to give something back to the charity which had given Seb and our family so much,” said Joe. “So I’ve decided to do it again and anyone can join us or donate.” The walk will start from the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton at 7am before heading around the 23km to finish at Wirral Country Park in Thurstaston. “Whether you can do 5km, 10km, or the whole thing, it would be great to see people along the route,” added Joe. Our fundraiser Cat Dowdeswell said: “We’d like to wish Joe and all the walkers good luck for their Wirral Walk. “Joe has a very special reason for doing the walk, and without the support of brilliant fundraising challenges like this we could not be here for children like Seb. “We’re here to help local children with life-threatening conditions, and their families, live their best life across Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire, and it costs £10 million a year to deliver the care we do. “Thank you Joe, we’ll all be cheering you on every step of the way.” If you would like to sponsor Joe then you can do so by clicking the link below.
