Tŷ Gobaith awarded more funding by Welsh Government We have today welcomed confirmation that Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospice will receive more funding from the Welsh Government. From this year, the hospice will receive an additional £306,000 on top of the £667,000 already received from Welsh Government and health boards, which goes towards the £5 million a year we need to provide vital care and support to more children and families across Wales. Our Head of Care at Tŷ Gobaith Angharad Davies, said: "This funding will allow us to reach more children across Wales, providing them and their families with the hospice care and support they so often describe as their lifeline." Our Chief Executive Andy Goldsmith, added: "Last week the UK Government’s commitment to continue the former Children’s Hospice Grant in England for a further three years. We hoped this would encourage the Welsh Government to take similar steps toward sustainable funding for children’s hospices in Wales. “Today’s announcement is a welcome and significant step in that direction. It gives us greater confidence to plan for the future and ensure that every local child, regardless of which side of the border they live, can access the hospice care they need."
