Teeing off for a great year of fundraising Kind members of a North Wales sports club have joined team Hope House Padeswood & Buckley Golf Club have come on board and adopted us as their charity of the year for the 2025 season. Captain Allan Birch and Lady Captain Marie Stewart will officially launch the partnership to members at their respective Drive-Ins on March 22nd and 29th. Marie Stewart and Allan Birch are the new proud captains at Padeswood & Buckley Golf Club Lifeline "Our club is a lifeline for many of our members and we have players at 90 and 91 years old - much like the hospices are a lifeline for the local families they support," said Allan. He continued: "We wanted to support a charity close to home so whittled it down and we found we'd never supported a children's charity before and really wanted to bring Hope House Tŷ Gobaith to the forefront." Understanding Lady Captain Marie said: "I have a career in nursing and being a health visitor so see many children receive respite care as part of my workload so understand what Hope House does well. "I'll be turning 60 on Allan's drive-in day and have asked for donations to the cause rather than cards or gifts." With events such as a Tapas Night and Afternoon Tea coming up soon, the club will also be donating proceeds from their annual Captain's Day in June. Thanks Our fundraiser Nicky Eyes dropped in on the club to speak with the captains and said: "The club is firmly rooted in the community and we are thrilled to join with an organisation who share our values. "We are very much looking forward to supporting them in their drive to raise funds over the year and every penny raised will go directly to help enable local seriously ill children and their families to live their best lives."
