A generous community on Anglesey went “Baaaa-rmy” over the summer and raised a fantastic helping to support local children.

On Saturday August 16th at The Bull Inn, Llanerchymedd, Cneifio Cylch held its annual sheep shearing competition and family fun day.

Of the money raised on the day, £10,050 was donated to Tŷ Gobaith in the Conwy Valley.

But what’s more, is that the group has chosen to donate the money as part of the hospice’s 36-hr match funding campaign, Quality Moments Matter - meaning it will be doubled to a whopping £20,100.

Hospice fundraiser, Nikki Sullivan said: “Anglesey is such a caring community and Cneifio Cylch are no different.

“We’re so thrilled that they have chosen to make one donation have twice the impact for local children and their families who are living with a life-threatening condition.

“Thank you so much to everybody who helped put on and support the day.”

Quality Moments Matter runs across November 23rd - 24th and is and aims to raise £500,000 for Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices.

This ambitious target will provide the hospices with the ability to give the very best quality of life to the families they care for on top of their nursing care.

Generous local businesses have already secured the match pot and now it is up the public to help unlock it with donations and fundraising totals.

So, if you only donate once this year, make it now
